Business Council to meet

The Sperryville Business Council will meet on Thursday, Aug. It) at 8 p.m. at Carriage House, home of Tom and Daniell Junk. All business owners, members and interested persons are urged to attend.

Ruritan Auction planned

The Ammissville Ruritan Club is planning an auction for Saturday, Aug. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. Proceeds will benefit the Ruritans Community building. Donations are requested. Luncheon and bake sale

Literacy Volunteers to meet

Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers are asked to come to the monthly meeting for August, not on the first Friday but the second Friday, Aug. 11. The time: 9:30 a.m. and the place: Trinity Church Parish Hall, are the same as usual. And, as always, anyone who has not received a high school diploma and wants a recognized equivalent is welcomed to this meeting to learn how to earn one.

Beahm-Bolen reunion planned

Descedants, friends and relatives are invited to the sixth annual George Washington and Nancy Bolen Beahm family reunion Sunday, Sept. 3, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and beverage. Coffee will be provided. Historical Society picnic

The Rappahannock Historical Society will hold its annual picnic on Aug. 11 at 6 o’clock at “Greenwood,” the historic home of Mrs. Jean McNear.
