Trophy Day set

The Amissville Baseball League will hold a picnic and “Trophy Day” on Aug. 19. Awards will be presented as well as a drawing for an autographed Redskins football donated by Rick Hunt Ford and a Redskins jacket donated by Rankins Sporting Goods. Winners need not be present. The kids are now selling tickets for $1; contest will last until Aug. 19. The community is invited to visit Stuart Field evenings and Saturdays to support the teams and share in the excitement. RAAC meeting and picnic

The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC) annual meeting and picnic will be held Sunday, Aug. 13 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Barney O’Meara’s home near Slate Mills. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.

Class reunion planned

Tenth year high school reunion for the class of 1979 will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Panorama Restaurant, Lurav. The evening will begin at 7:30 with a social hour followed by a dinner and dance. All those planning on attending must RSVP as soon as possible.
