chosen in 1957 to assist in the evaluation of the public relations effectiveness of Radio Free Europe. In 1962, he was named to the U.S. Department of Commerce Travel Advisory Committee. He also served on advisory committees of Marquette University and the Georgetown University School of Business Administration. In 1961, Marquette University awarded him the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws.
He was a widely-known speaker in the fields of transportation arid public relations, and the author of tw'o satiric works, “Life in Washington” and “Who, Me?”
His wife of forty-eight years, Margaret Taugher Belson, died in 1977, and his older son, William W. Belson, M.D., died in 1978. He is survived bv a son, Judge James A.
