But Mr. Call’s various forms of irrigation, purchased and used during the past several summers as temperatures soared and rainfall percentages dropped, are standing untouched from last year.
Even his thirsty blueberries, nearly lost due to drought conditions in previous years, are florishing. “We may have a decent berry crop next year," Mr. Call predicted with pride, saying this year the irrigation system feeding only the blueberries has not been used.
And what does the weather have in store for the fall and winter?
“Sources can’t get a fix on wThat makes weather conditions,” Mr. Wingfield said, explaining that one season’s wet or dry conditions does not create or predict the following season’s patterns.
