To the editor:
As a former resident of Rappahannock County, I have always been interested in the happenings there. Each week I look forward to your local newspaper, and really enjoy the “Letters to the editor”, as I feel there lies the true heart of the people.
Over the years I have read about the fact that Rappahannock County is opposed to subdivsions, trucks, nursing homes and cable T.V., to name a few. It would appear that the citizens of Rappahannock County are firm in their conviction to keep the “city ways” out of their beloved county.
But after reading the recent letters opposing the helicopter search finding marijuanna and suggesting that they use the helicopter instead to send food to Africa, I could not resist writing a letter myself.
What also amazed me was that only one person wrote praising the fine job the authorities had done.
I’m glad that Rappahannock County doesn’t want to become another Manassas or Fairfax. I enjoy riding through the county admiring the breathtaking views.
