The same weapon can be used against the international drug kingpins and terrorists that are producing the poison that is killing thousands of Americans, destroying untold lives, and even now directly contributing to the horrible increase in infant mortality and infant addiction.
The weapon I refer to is the covert elimination of these terrorists.
In 1978, following the revelations of CIA, attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro, President Jimmy Carter issued an executive order prohibiting our covert forces from eliminating foreign targets. I wholeheartedly agree that the CIA should not be in the business of assassinating heads of states or other political leaders.
I so believe, however, that President Bush should modify the Executive Order to allow for the CIA, DEA, other U.S. intelligence, agencies and the armed forces to implement surgical and selective action to eliminate terrorists or drug kingpins that the United States has not been able to bring to justice through other means.
Is this a harsh reaction? I think not.
