Soldiers’ names sought

County residents with relatives serving in the Persian Gulf or who have been called to active or reserve duty as part of Operation Desert Shield are asked to provide the names, APO addresses and birthdates of those servicemen and women. The information should be sent to the Rappahannock News, P.O. Box 59, Washington, Va. 22747, Attn: Service list. The newspaper will publish a list of the names so that other county residents who wish to correspond with their neighbors can do so. The project is being sponsored by the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Land use deadline

The deadline for enrollment in the county's land use program for the 1991 tax year is Thursday, Nov. 1. Any resident who has not filed the appropriate forms, has questions about the program or who wishes additional information should contact Commissioner of the Revenue Beverly Atkins (675-3513).

Hunter safety class

A hunter safety course will be held at the Washington fire hall on Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at 9 a.m. Sponsored by the Virginia Game Commission, this course is required for all first-time hunters and all hunters under the age of 16.
