as a trust. This summer he urged Congress to skip its annual recess to stay in Washington to work on the budget. Congress cut classes anyway, and while it played golf, the economy grew steadily worse. Slaughter’s way was the right way.

For the record: Slaughter has voted for tax reforms and against quotas. He opposes new taxes and supports a line item veto. He has never wavered in his support for a strong, efficient defense and a foreign policy dedicated to expanding liberty’s sphere. A free world is a safe world.
