William Barr, a leader in the county who moved to Fauquier in 1968, said that he had not heard of any mention of Klan activity within the black community.
“It’s entirely feasible that that could have occurred,” said Barr, “but I don’t know of any Klan activity.”
“I don’t know how we’re going to find the truth in this,” said Barr. “It bears looking into.”

The FBI released a statement Monday confirming that it is investigating the allegations. State-Police investigators are in the preliminary stages of an investigation, said Lucy Caldwell, State Police information officer.
The Fauquier County Sheriffs Office said it had not yet been contacted about the investigation.
See is currently in protective custody at the Nevada state prison, according to Foster. She said that he requested to be isolated from the general prison population after his story was first released on Fox Television Network last Thursday night.
