Here they come again. These days I feel like Errol Flynn, holding up the portcullis with one hand while with a sword in the other I beat off a seemingly endless line of marauding liberals.
What’s really happening is that as soon as you knock these birds off into the moat, they paddle as fast as they can around the castle and come in the other side, just traveling around the tired old liberal circle, not learning a thing from experience.
These days, they are telling us that our military establishment does not serve any real purpose, did not for example keep Saddam Hussein from invading Kuwait.
Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait for much the same reason that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor: they did not beleive that we would fight, and the reason they didn’t was that there was so much handwringing among shortsighted people in this country who didn’t know a thing about history; these days, there is the added problem of people who are sure, in the face of the facts, that the military takes up a larger portion of the national budget than the
