Winter is just around the corner. Reminders are all around. The grass has turned from green to brown, tinted by early morning frosts. Bare, black tree limbs are silhouetted against the November sky, as winter looms on the horizon.
Yet, potted plants, carefully rescued before the first frost, shine like emeralds in the sunny bay window, oblivious to the season. They thrive in the house, warm and tended, lovingly watered and nourished.
