Luke explained that the crimes Mr. Jones was charged with occurred on Fodderstack Road in Flint Hill on May 18. He said that on May 17 and 18 Mr. Jones called the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office and complained that people were driving by his house and blowing their horns.
Mr. Luke said that Mr. Jones got into an argument with Gary Jordan, a neighbor, and that he struck Mr. Jordan in the back of the head and his stomach with the butt of a gun, an SKS Type 53 semi-automatic rifle, and that Mr. Jones made a threat that he would kill him the next time.
Mr. Jones’s attorney, Doug Baumgardner, said that his client is a man who sometimes uses harsh words. He said that Mr. Jones would prove that he had been having problems with Gary Jordan for a while and that his client had been registering
