told the jury that she and her husband had helped out Mr. Jordan many times, including giving him a load of wood when he needed it. She said that they would hear a lot of noise and cussing coming from Mr. Jordan’s house.
Nancy Jones, Mr. Jones’s mother who lives next door to Mr. Jordan, testified that she saw Mr. Jordan hit her son in the side of the face.

Jones said he took his gun with him to the house because there had been numerous beatings and assaults at the house. He said that Mr. Jordan hit him in the jaw, in selfdefense he kicked Jordan in the stomach, and that part of the gun caught Mr. Jordan behind the ear.
