Cooking, Crafts Club Organizing
•A new 4-H Club for youth ages 9 to 12 is being organized to study 4H Cooking and Home Furnishings projects. The first meeting will be from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the Extension Office. Please call Mrs. Judy Burke at 635-2473, 4-H Leader, or the Extension Office at 675-3619 to sign up.
Story Hour To Begin
The Rappahannock County Library story' hour for pre-school children, ages'2-5 will start at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 arid continue each Wednesday through Nov. 15.
The program of songs, finger plays and a story will last about thirty minutes. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration is necessary.
Open House Scheduled
Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have an open house form 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14. For more information call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
Bike-A-Thon Planned
There will be a Bike-A-Thon on Oct. 1 (rain dates is Oct. 8) to benefit the St. Judes Children’s Flospital. St. Jude’s hospital provides total care for children with catostophic medical problems such as cancer, at no cost to the families. Money is raised through donations and event such as the Bike-A-Thon which is sponsored by pledges. Prizes will be awarded. Pledges of $35 will entitle you to a T-shirt and $75 in pledges will earn a T-shirt and duffel bag.
It will be held on Dearing Road (Route 628) near Flint Hill from 1-4 p.m. hopefully making this a family outing. It isn’t just for children its for adults also. To pre-register or for more information, 675-3624.
