In visiting my daughter’s kindergarten classroom during this year’s Rappahannock County Book Day, I found not one, but two, computers for the children to use. However, I was dismayed that they were* two “old clunkers’ that you’d be hard pressed to get a couple of bucks for at a yard sale.
This seems to be the case with many of the other computers within the county’s school system. The high school library is an example. Many of the computers there are antiquated. The recent furor over Windows 95 would hardly be worth discussing there since most of the PC’s in the library will not even run the original Windows 3.0. I am sorry to see a county that helped set the standards for technology in the classroom within the state of Virginia allowing itself to fall behind.
