The 1995 3owen Family Reunion held on Saturday, Sept. 23 was sparsely though faithfully and enthusiastically attended. Recent illness and the drastic change in the weather both of which deterred our numbers but not our spirits.
The charcoal fires offered some appeasement to those who huddled near, and the ever flowing stream from the coffee pot warmed the insides as well. Despite the constant wind our togetherness was reminiscent of those old forefathers who braved much harsher conditions to rekindle the flames of unity of family.
We sincerely missed those who could not be with us and grieve ever those who have gone to rest.

Bridget Family
Hosts Reunion
Wilbur and Edith Bridget of Washington hosted a reunion for relatives and friends at their home in Gid Brown Hollow on Saturday, Aug. 19.
The reunion also included descendants from the Freeman family. Approximately 100 people attended the celebration.
The Bridgets have three daughters, Mrs. Doris Fletcher Spaulding of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Wilma BridgetScott of Annandale and Mrs. Eva Bridget Brown of Woodbridge and four grandchildren.
In addition to the children and grandchildren attending relatives and friends came from Maine, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland,
Washington, D.C., Springfield,’ Alexandria, South Carolina and Tom Brooks, as well as throughout Rappahannock County.
There were games, prizes for the oldest and youngest persons attending and lots of food. Mrs. Bridget said everyone brought food of various kinds and they all had a great day of reminiscing and she extends her .sincere thanks to all who helped to make the celebration a memorable and joyous occasion.
