Ms. Heile is not a skilled figure painter and I think she should work to improve her drafting ability.
Ms. Heile shows us an exuberant world, confidently portrayed and generally celebratory. Even a picture called “Sarajevo...and the Roses Need Pruning" presents a colorful and cheerful scene.
Perhaps the painting, “Girl with Bird” points in a direction for Ms. Heile’s development: this picture contains all the rainbow colors her other works employ, but the composition is focused and the multiplicity of forms makes it sparkle.
