The majority of teams in the Rappahannock Soccer League lost their games last week, but most scores were just a goal or two apart — a vast improvement over a couple of the widely disparate scores of the previous week. . , The biggest turnaround occurred with the U-14 team. They battled Culpeper-11 to a score of 2-1, losing \yhen Culpepefr scored its second goal a half-second before the referee’s whistle ended the game.
Carl Letsen’s U-10 team and Jim Lofton’s U-6 team were the only winning. Rappahannock teams. Mr. Letsen’s team beat Madison 3-0, with Nathan Corbin scoring two goals and Michael Cannon scoring one goal. , Mr, Lofton’s team, “The Robins,” won its first game against Shuman Builders in Culpeper 2-0 and its second game 4-3. Dylan Corbin scored in both games for a total of three goals, and James Lofton scored three goals in the second game.
Lorinda Bosch and Mike McKiernan, coaches for separate U?2 teams, both expressed pleasure at the improvement shown by their teams in just a week of playing. !. Rob Parrish’s U-6 team, “The Cardinals,” held St. Luke to two close scores, 2-1 in the first and second games. Sharon Pierce’s U-6s, “The Cannonballs,” scored two goals to Madison’s four. ■ Maggie Roger’s all-girls’ team, a tl-12 group, lost 4-0 to a Fauquier team.--. '
