Barbara Heile receive her Master of Fine Arts degree from American University in 1982, studying with Robert D’Arista, among others. Before settling in Rappahannock, she lived for three years in California, which may account for some of the Mediterranean flavor of her work.
The 18 pictures Ms. Heile has on ( display at the Library this month are pen and ink drawings, water color crayons, oils and a pastel. Whatever her medium, her images are forceful. She paints with a full palette: a number of her pictures include blue.
