This summer Angela Ciolfi encountered the realities of a medical career in a way that many second-year medical students have yet to experience.

Miss Ciolfi, a Fauquier High School senior, was one of 30 Virginia students accepted for the Governor’s School for Medicine. She spent six weeks behind the scenes at the Medical College of Virginia, peering over the shoulders of surgeons and physicians and living the life of a research assistant.
