We are so proud of the members of the Old Rag Mountain Pony Club for their winning performances at the 1999 Virginia Region Know-Down.

Every child from our club who competed won a first place ribbon. Ours is the only club that accomplished this.

We had two Junior D teams of Anna Kreyling, Hannah Morgan, and Abi Smith; and Laura Massie, Christina Naramore, and Emma Smith.

The Senior D team was Alyssa Berry, Hallee Morgan, and Lauren Thornhill. Our Senior C’s were Elaina Thornhill and Lizzie Williams.

The Know-Down competition is an annual United States Pony Club event.

The children compete against the members of all of the Pony Clubs in the Virginia Region.

They are tested on their overall knowledge of horses, such as anatomy, care, feeding, grooming, veterinary skills, barn safety, and riding knowledge. The format is similar to “The College Bowl.”

For the last six years, Elaina Thornhill, and for» the past two years, Halle!
