In the meantime, the Sheriff’s Office is working on an inventory of the tiles to establish actual value, along with related losses suffered by the Inn.
Chain saws stolen
The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the theft of three Husqvama chain saws from a truck parked on the Bill Fletcher property off Route 620. The theft was reported on March 10, and the investigation is being handled by Capt. Brown.
Break-in reported
The forced entry and burglary of a weekend home off Rt. 231 near Sperryville is also under investigation. The incident was reported on March 13, although the property owner believed the break-in may have occurred as early as March 5. Entry was gained by breaking out a basement window. While a complete inventory had not been completed by presstime, it appears that a large number of tools, along with some food items, had been taken. Lt. David Sollesbee is heading up the investigation.
Wreck near Flint Hill
A Hedgesville, W.Va. man has been charged with reckless driving as the result of an accident Sunday morning on Rt. 522 near the intersection of Rt. 655 near Flint Hill.
Charles Flint, 44, was headed north on Rt. 522 just before noon when he rah off the right side of the road, striking two highway signs and a pole holding up signal lights, knocking it down.
Flint was uninjured, but his 1988 Dodge pickup received $3000 damage. Property owned by VDOT at the scene received $1700 in damage. The accident was investigated by Trooper Sean Knick of the Virginia State Police.
