Her marriage and partnership with Brian Ross led to the expanded Mountainside Market, established in 1995 on Route 211 in Sperryville.

Now ‘Rae’s Place’

Rae now has a new venture in the works-Rae’s Place.

Scheduled to open the week of March 29, Rae’s Place will provide sustenance for the body in a space to feed the soul.

Located on the basement level of the old elementary school in Sperryville, Rae’s Place offers light and airy space with the best fish-eye view of the Thornton River.

With its view, its walls painted in muted hues, and its sparkling oak floors, the store invited and soothed, even with unassembled equipment on the floor and construction in progress.

Rae’s menu will consist of daily selections from the hundred-plus sandwiches she’s developed over the years, as
