In its third iteration, the il999-2000 Rappahannock .school budget gained another ;tjck, to a total of $7.84 million ,qs compared to the $7.68 million presented at the February 9 budget work session.
Most importantly, the county’s contribution to school operations increased to $4.66 million from the February figure of $4.56 million, an increase of 4.31 percent over last year’s budget.
According to schools chief Dr. David Gangel, the bulk of .ihe increase can be attributed to actions in Richmond. The school revenue provided in the compromise budget agreed upon last week by the General Assembly, though not ^yet .signed by Governor Gilmore at
