The richly varied native plants, songbirds and other wildlife of this Piedmont region form an inseparable part of that natural beauty, but are an element in need of our caring protection.
The mountains will not soon leave us. The wildlife may, unless we give nature a better chance.
For this reason, increasing numbers of homeowners are planting shrubs, trees and gardens that provide habitat for songbirds, or just letting a few patches of natural growth take over. As interest spreads in a more natural, more relaxed landscape that restores nature in our lives, it can preserve the best of “the country” for us those of us who like it that way.
