As an added incentive to pick up trash for cash, TFR will be placing instant winner coupons throughout the county, with an equal distribution of coupons within each of Rappahannock’s five districts.
The coupons will entitle the finder to an immediate prize. Instead of placing greenbacks around the county, coupons of equivalent value will be placed in randomly selected locations by program coordinator Hunt Harris.
He will be the only person who knows the location of the coupons.
Instant winner coupons will be taped, glued, or stapled to pieces of trash which are already on the roadside, so TFR participants should watch for the coupons as they collect and bag the trash.
The instant winner program will reinforce TFR’s attempt to create and promote some good natured competition among the residents of Rappahannock’s five districts. Because the dollar value and the number of coupons in each district will be equal, TFR will report on how many of the coupons have been found in each district.
