We can all do our children a favor by creating sanctuary for any enchantment we can find in these hard times. The dryads and leprechauns need our help.

When you landscape with native plants you accomplish several goals. The most obvious is that native plants are better adapted to the climate and soil and will require less fuss and watering.

Less obvious is that native plants attract and nurture local insects and small animals, not to mention Virginian Pixies and Fauquier Fairy People.

The most important reason is that planting and allowing a space for native Virginian plants creates a well.
