Being a lover, collector and seller of art, I find real paintings to be viable stimulus in creating a special effect in a room. In the case of my client and her terrific new rug, the entry hall establishes the welcoming tone of the house with a riot of color at your feet. These same colors are reflected in the kitchen wallpaper just to the right of the entry and are sprinkled throughout the living room/dining room — on windows, pillows on the leather sofas, throws, table rounds and seat cushions.
