• Mr. and Mrs. Way, fourth and fifth grade teachers at RCES, are the proud parents of a baby girl, their first child, bom last Monday, Mrs. Estes, second grade teacher, had a surprise when her baby girl arrived two weeks early, this weekend! She and her husband also have a little boy, Ben. Congratulations, everyone!
• Mrs. Karla Miller will be substituting for Mrs. Way in her absence. Mrs. April Heddleston will be filling in for Mrs. Estes. We are happy to welcome both of these wonderful ladies as members of our staff.
• Many thanks to Headwaters, Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, for making it possible for 18-20 more staff members from both schools to attend the National Effective Schools Conference in June 1999. Great things are happening in our schools in part because of things learned at that conference last year. We look forward to more enthusiasm and innovation as teachers return next year with this wonderful training. Thank you, Headwaters!
• Our sympathies are extended the family of Sid Gottlieb upon his passing. Sid was a great supporter of the public schools in Rappahannock as well as of the community at large. He will be greatly missed.
