But this was just to be a backdrop to the colors we would select for fabrics and wallpapers, etc. We needed something special to catch our eye.
That “something special” can come from any number of items important to exciting design: a spectacular wallpaper for the kitchen; a delicious fabric for the window treatment in the living room; a painting, from your grandmother or newly purchased from a recent trip to a local gallery. In this instance, the something special was a vibrant needlepoint rug for the entry hall.
You will be amazed how easily everything starts flowing together when you have found one extraordinary item with which to work. This will then play a pivotal role in developing the color scheme for one room or the whole rest of the house.
