county. My neighbors have a “heart of gold” and they would give the “shirts off their back.” They are also a God fearing ' people. (Meaning they have a deep reverence.) Although peo- 'C pie’s activities may differ, education and professions, there is a 1 respect for the individuality here that I appreciate.
• We moved here to raise our kids away from the city trou-v. ble. We may have some of it here but it’s not the same, gangs, drugs, crime. They also have tight relationships all through school and know everyone. The parents know everyone, too, so we know who our kids are out with. And of course, we love the , quiet. No 1-66. ;
• The values I love in this county are: a “help your neighbor” attitude, a hard working ethic, enjoying a simple life, an 7 appreciation of the area. We may need to watch that “big (i money” doesn’t sway the balance here. (
Some things never change. Whether you’re in a buggy drawn by a horse, a car, on a bicycle, skating on roller blades,, or riding on a skateboard speeding on a country road, a sidewalk, a two, four or six lane expressway, values of courtesy, caring for one another, honesty, trust, responsibility, giving equal concern to opponents, compromise are what give mean- 1 ing to life. The great mediator of them all expressed it as loving thy neighbor as thyself. In this way, we will never lose Rappahannock County. V*
