Sunny goundcovers are limited only by your imagination. Pick your favorite color and find its compliment on a color wheel. Mix the two and bask in the glory.
Some great combinations for full sun are eared coreopsis and veronica in spring. Rudbeckia (Indian summer) and blue lobelia are charming in summer. For a fall show try solidago (golden fleece) and aster (purple dome).
Add a third color or white to fill in. More butterflies are attracted to masses of a few species than to a confusing mixture.
Be sure to cut an edge around the new bed to discourage turf grass from creeping in. This simple chore will drastically cut down on maintenance.

Take a look at the foundation plantings around the house. If you’ve grown tired of them or, as often happens, they’ve outgrown their space, think about adding a new shade tree and grouping the old shrubs around
