The 170-acre Blandy State Arboretum includes the largest collection of boxwood varieties in North America and more than half the world’s pine species, and today comprises the largest mature collection of woody plants in the mid-Atlantic states.
It is also the headquarters for the American Boxwood Society and the Virginia Native Plant Society.
Programs include the Saturday Leaves free guided tours on the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m., and the Summer Concert Series, June 12, July 10 and Aug. 7 at 7 p.m.
