With all the villages in Rappahannock County and speed limits varying from 25 mph to 55 mph on major routes, Sheriff Larry Sherertz and his deputies are cracking down on speeding violations.
Sherertz reports, “There is a problem as far as I’m concerned. My deputies have idle or discretionary time during the day and they focus on problematic areas, for burglary protection and for speeding enforcement in the villages.”
There are four areas of major concern: Woodville, Sperryville, Flint Hill, and in the Chester Gap area, the all terrain vehicles are a problem.
