Asked to describe the music to be heard at the upcoming concert in Little Washington, Vignola says, “Gene plays great nylon string swing and Bossa. I play acoustic swing and gypsy style. Gene has a tribute to Jobim CD and I have a tribute to Django CD that are both current releases. The two different acoustic guitar styles really complement one another.”
This concert is the Theatre’s last presentation of 1999. But planning for the next millennium is well underway. And the new year will open at the Theatre, on Jan. 23, with a concert by another jazz musician from New ^York, pianist Bill Charlap playing music of Broadway^ Scott Joplin and, of course, jazz. ;'•* » , v1.)
