The merchants of Sperryville will celebrate their third annual Blue Ridge Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 24-26. shops in town and along U.S. 211 west of the village will have special sales of seasonal merchandise and other items in the country atmosphere of a small rural town. Rappahannock Elementary School is using foam trays used for packaging meats in supermarkets for art projects. Trays should be cleaned after use and may be dropped off at the main office of the elementary school for Mrs. Linda Owings. On Nov. 30 the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community services Board will dedicate its new Aylor-Thomton Building. The Board of Directors decided to dedicate their new building in the name of two of its longest-standing board members, Louise Aylor and Frances Thornton. Mrs. Aylor served as a Public Health nurse in Madison for 24 years. Mrs. Frances Thornton retired in 1986, after serving as Rappahannock’s first and only Public Health nurse for 36 years.
