It can be difficult to find the perfect gift for the sports fan, especially during the holidays.
If sports is a passion for your son or daughter, he or she may have several wishes. From football to basketball to skiing to skating to tennis, here are some suggestions for a perfect sports fan gift.
If your child plays a certain sport, or has an interest in taking one up, you might want to buy the sport’s basic equipment.
For football, you could buy a ball or a mouthpiece; for tennis, a racket, tennis balls, a headband or wristbands; and for soccer, a soccer ball — Spalding, Wilson or Nike — shin pads, a pump, goalie gloves or cones to practice basic fundamentals.
Be aware that there are gifts for sports fans of all ages. Young children might be interested in a mini basketball hoop, a punching bag or a boxing glove set. Even Beanie Babies, baby bibs and teddy bears with sports themes make great stocking stuffers.
