Once the participating children are selected, the parents are contacted for their approval. The children will meet at the Sheriff’s Office and be driven to K-Mart in Warrenton. Once at the store, the child is paired lip with a uniform officer. Each child can then purchase one hundred dollars ($100) worth of merchandise for themselves and family. A portion of the money will be used for items of personal need, such as clothing, shoes, etc. The deputy assigned to the child will give assistance in this area.
Once the shopping is completed, the children will have an opportunity to eat breakfast with the officers. Volunteers will be wrapping the presents that the children have purchased. These will be ready for the kids when they
