Steve Dowell of Castleton, Ken Miller of Huntly, and Tom Shafran of Viewtown have recently been named to two-year terms to the Board of Directors of Wakefield Country Day School, Huntly. Shafran will serve as Chairman of the Board, Dowell will serve as the parent representative to the board, and Miller will serve as a member at-large.
Dowell has had a long association with WCDS having taught physical sciences, computer technology and government courses at the school from 1994 to 1998. Prior to teaching, Dowell served in the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Force.
A graduate of the Naval Academy, Dowell received a Masters Degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School. Currently, Dowell is the Director for Secure Information Systems at Loch Harbour Group, Alexandria.
He lives in Castleton with his wife Marsha and three sons: Thomas and Stephen, who attend WCDS, and Joseph.
