and that is to do the very best job I am capable of in assisting my colleagues at providing an efficient and effective educational program for all of our children in our school system. My efforts will be directed especially toward achieving this goal with the best management of our limited resources as is humanly possible.
In the Nov. 10 issue of the Rappahannock News, it was erroneously reported that I had declined an invitation to attend VSBA Convention in Williamsburg during the week of Nov. 15. I did not decline nor did I receive an invitation. I was, however, informed by phone of the upcoming convention, and that it would be held on the 17, 18, and 19. I have had for the last twenty years a standing engagement (where I am required to participate) on the third Thursday in November which happened to be on the 18th this year, and for that reason (and since attendance was not required) I could not attend.
