Priority Mall
This is 2-day service to most domestic destinations, but that is not guaranteed. Packages are delivered during the normal post office business day, Monday through Saturday. There is no tracking or tracing and insurance must be purchased, if desired. Pickup service is available at $8.25 per stop, no matter how many pieces.
It is significantly less expensive, compared to Express Mail. A package weighing up to 2 lb. costs $3.20, while a 5-lb. package would cost $6.50.
Parcel Post
Parcel post is the least expensive way typically used to ship packages.
Average delivery times are on the order of 7-12 days, depending on the distance. There is no Sunday delivery, and any special services such as insurance must be purchased.
Oversized rates are avilable for packages which measure no more than 130 inches combined length plus girth.
Military Mall
Military mail may be used only for personal parcels and publications going to military personnel overseas.
The following are the last dates to mail items going to APO/FPO AA, AE, and AP with ZIP codes beginning with 090-098, 340, and 962-966:
• Dec. 10 for First Class letters and cards and Priority Mail;
• Dec. 3 for Parcel Airlift Mail (PAL);
• Nov. 27 for Space Available Mail (SAM); and
• Nov. 6 for Standard Mail.
