There are typically three services which may be used to send holiday packages: U.S. Mail, UPS, and FedEx.

U.S. MAIL

The XJT-S. Postal Service is may be the most accessible for most individuals and has a variety of options available, including Express Mail, Priority Mail, and Parcel Post.

Packages can weigh no more than 70 pounds, with a combined length and girth of no more than 108 inches. This measurement is the longest dimension plus the distance around the package. ■ For example, for a 10-inch cube, it would be 50 inches (10 plus 40), and for a package 10x10x20, it would be 60 inches (20 plus 40). Note that there are exceptions to these rules for international and military mail.

Express Mail

Express Mail is the premium service, and the most expensive. Delivery by noon the next day is guaranteed to most major cities, 365 days a year, with no extra charge for Saturday, Sunday, or holiday delivery. Delivery is to all addresses, including PO boxes and rural addresses.

Tracking and tracing is included, as well as insurance up to $500. Pickup service is available at $8.25 per stop, no matter how many pieces.

This is the most expensive service , available, starting at $11.75 for weights up to 8 oz. A package weighing 5 lb. would cost $24 to ship.
