Benefit auction scheduled

A benefit auction will be held at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, Dec. 4 beginning at 5 p.m. Items will be accepted at the fire hall from 2 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 3 and from 8 a.m. until the time of auction on Dec. 4. “There will be many new items including beanie babies. This would be an excellent time to begin your Christmas shopping,” said an organizer. Also up for auction will be a 1964 Land Cruiser complete with snow blade. Christmas bazaar planned

The Child Care and Learning Center will be presenting its annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue. There will be a children’s shopping room where everything is $1; pictures with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; lunch for sale and lots of crafts, baked goods and bazaar items. Proceeds to benefit CCLC scholarships.

Playgroup moving indoors

The Mother’s Playgroup is moving indoors. The group meets at Trinity Episcopal Church on Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. A donation will be collected. For more information call Kathy at 987-9099.

Christmas breakfast planned

The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary is sponsoring an “All American Christmas Breakfast” on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Breakfast will be served from 7-11 a.m. Santa will be visiting between 9 and 11 a.m. “Enjoy the company of your friends and relatives, and a delicious meal prepared by Pat Jenkins and Company,” said an organizer. The meal will consist of sausage gravy, eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, baked apples, pancakes, coffee and juice. Adult breakfast will be $5 and $3 for children six years and under. RAPIDTRAN will not operate

RAPIDTRAN van service will not operate on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, Nov. 24-26, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The van is a program of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board.

Aerobic classes slated

Aerobic classes are held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 8 to 9 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. For information call Beth Levick at 635-6149.
