Craft festival planned

St. Luke’s Lutheran School 12th annual craft festival will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you would like to rent a space contact Margie Lancaster at 825-8890 or Ruth Sousa at 423-1405.

Work on display at gallery

Margot Schnitzer de Neuhaus will be showing her work at June Jordan’s Packing Shed Gallery in Washington through Nov. 27. The work consists of sculptures made of wood and stone, and paintings made of western and oriental paper marked with sumi, Japanese ink. June Jordan’s Packing Shed Gallery is located at the Packing Shed Comer on Gay and Porter Streets in Washington. The regular hours are 12:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday with extended hours on Friday. You may contact the Comer at 675-3410 for information.

New 4-H clubs to begin

Do you like the fascinating world of electricity? If you are between the ages of 9 and 19 and would like to join the new 4-H Electricity Project Club, please call the office to sign up, 675-3619. This club will meet after school in the Extension Office once a month.

Flu shot date announced

Rappahannock County Health Department is offering flu shots at the following time: Nov. 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. Flu shot cost is $7 for the general public. Pneumonia shots are recommended for those 65 and over and the cost is $14 for the general public. For information call 675-3516.

Census testing site selected

Census 2000 testing site will be held at the Rappahannock Library on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. Please bring two forms of legal identification. The event is open to adults 18 and over. For more information call 825-8664.

Autumn tennis instruction

Anyone interested in tennis lessons should contact Hunt Harris at the Ragged Mountain Resource Center, 987-3366. He will be offering a limited number of sessions this autumn for adults as well as youth on all levels (beginner through advanced competition). There is a sliding-scale fee system based on the number of participants in a group, and individual instruction is also available.

Shooting match at Castleton

The Castleton Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a shooting match every Friday night at 7 p.m. on the grounds of the department. Local residents are encouraged to support this endeavor.
