Can a titmouse hold down a peanut with one foot and peck at it as he does with a sunflower seed, or will he wedge it in a crevice someplace, as the White-breasted Nuthatch does, so that he can peck at it?
The fact that Blue Jays like peanuts very much is well known to me. I have seen them come to the feeder and swallow one after another. The bird must have strong digestive juices to handle all those peanuts — whole.
