the Sheriff"s Office. On or about Aug. 2 during the daytime, a UPS package was taken from a house on Red Oak Mountain Road Deputy Robert Fincham is investigating. In a separate matter, a camera was reported missing and that investigation is ongoing.
The Sheriff"s Office also received two reports of possible drunk driving. One was a car headed toward Rappahannock from Madison and the other was coming from Culpeper. Deputy >1 C Welch and Deputy Mark Currence answered the calls, but -were not able to locate the vehicles.
Finally, the call by Doug Baumgardner to the Sheriff's Office of a dead black bird he passed by as he was doing his run was of interest. Because of the recent report of the West Nile Virus found in one bird in the Tiger Valley area, the Health Department is examining “recently” dead birds for the virus. In this case the Game Warden simply bagged in plastic and buried the dead bird.
