It’s back-toschool
time!
On Monday, Aug. 26 children attending
Rappahannock County Public Schools will
once again board the buses for hopefully another successful school year.
Nothing is more exciting than the first day of school for many of our children. They plan for the big day weeks in advance. • As parents, we need to encourage them every step of the way as they prepare for another year of learning and another year of challenges.
As parents, we need to get involved in the school system.
Learn more about your child’s teacher; volunteer an hour a week, an hour a month or whenever possible.
Learn about the various programs available, what you can do to help and be willing to take responsibility should the need arise.
As citizens of Rappahannock County, come Monday morning we need to allow a few extra minutes to get through the school zones at the recommended speed and allow buses the room they need to operate safely.
Be on the lookout for children at bus stops and obey the loading and unloading rules for buses.
We have all been delayed by a slow-moving bus at one time or another, but learn to practice patience.
Teachers and administrators have worked hard to make sure the school year is off to a great start and we salute and applaud each of them for their efforts as we begin the 200203 school year. ^
