Rappahannock County, I feel alarmed by the failure of the Sunnyside Institute to be approved by the Board of Supervisors. I respect the Supervisors and I know they were under intense pressure from an orchestrated telephone campaign. I also know that these issues are nuanced in ways that are hard to get across on paper. Still, it knocked the wind out of my sails when I read the news.
Question: Is not Sunnyside one of the aspects of our county that is unique and a source of pride? I certainly feel that it is. And isn’t Washington, Va. a better place since Sunnyside came here? Your own eyes can give you the answer to this one.
