Once this clearing has been done, the area will be surveyed and bids for clearing and grading the area for the track will be accepted. Four thousand dollars has been raised for the track fund with approximately $1,000 additionally needed.
Amy Neale was named queen of carnival festivities at Amissville last week and received her tiara from Rappahannock Sheriff W.A. Buntin in a coronation ceremony Friday evening. Runners up were Pam Kelly and Cindy Poe.
Celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Atkins. Their children, Elmer Atkins and Florine Atkins were pictured with them. Mr. and Mrs. Atkins were married at her home on Aug. 22, 1917 by the Rev. Warren Corbin. Approximately 100 friends and relatives were present to offer congratulations wishes.

Mike Massie of Massie’s Corner will sponsor a Virginia Cattlemen’s Association regional IV meeting at his home, Hampton Stock Farm on Sept. 3. The workshop marks the first time that an Association workshop has been held in Rappahannock County.
