Mr. William Simms, our Salem School Board Member and Leanne Coladonato, from the Jeffersonston District were in Richmond on July 23 to attend the Governor's Conference on Education. Dr. Cox, Culpeper County School Superintendent also attended.
Mrs. Beverly Burton of Reva, a 4-H Volunteer Leader nominated Roger Suder, for the outstanding volunteer for 2002; 4-H State Congress, and he received a plaque at the State Congress for being such a Fine role model’ This meeting was held at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
Members of the Weakley family, the late Charlie and Millie Weakley, living in our area are reminded of the reunion to be held this Saturday, Aug. 24, beginning at 11 a m. at the Brightwood Ruritan Club in Brightwood.
Plan now to attend the “Taste of the Mountains" festival to be held on the Main Street in our neighboring town of Madison. The festival will begin with the ringing of the courthouse bells at 10 a.m. and continue all day until 5 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 31. For further information call 948y2D4455.
